Installing a Libusun stone and wood facade
Libusun panels install as a dry trade — no mortar, no curing — at up to 500 sq ft per day for a two-person crew. This guide covers both the adhered and rainscreen clip-rail systems, from substrate preparation through finishing.

Prepare the substrate
Confirm the substrate is clean, flat, dry, and structurally sound. Libusun installs over cement board, plywood, CMU, and — for interior work — drywall. Address moisture, movement, and planarity issues before starting.

Set out the layout
Establish control lines and dry-fit panels before bonding. Pull panels from multiple boxes at once to blend the natural stone variation and avoid clustering similar tones. Plan corners and terminations from the detail library.

Choose the fixing system
For adhered installation, apply construction adhesive per the data sheet and press each panel home with even pressure. For rainscreen installation, mount the stainless clip-rail to the structure, then hang and lock panels onto the rail over a drained, ventilated cavity.

Cut and fit
Cut panels on site with a standard wet saw or angle grinder. The flexible backing lets panels wrap columns and curves where solid stone cannot. Maintain consistent joints using the recommended spacers.

Finish and clean
Terminate edges and corners with the matching profiles. Clean the finished surface with a soft brush and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners and high-pressure washers.
